AV Networks: unified network infrastructure for audiovisual systems

The AV network is the backboneof any production technology setup: when it fails, nothing else matters. Audicohas designed and delivered unified AV networks for some of the most demandingperformance venues and cultural institutions in Finland and Sweden, wherereliability is non-negotiable. Our team of 14 AV network specialists coversdesign, implementation and ongoing maintenance.

One network for every AV system

A unified AV network means thataudio, video, lighting, control systems and broadcast all run through the samenetwork infrastructure. One well-designed system serves every connected layer:sound systems, lighting, video processing, stage automation, informationdisplays, building management and access control. Management becomes clearerand the number of failure points decreases.

AV-over-IP has transformed howaudiovisual systems are built. When signals travel over IP, cabling simplifies, flexibility grows and scalability improves. At the same time, network designbecomes critical: the precise bandwidth requirements, latency tolerances andredundancy needs of AV equipment must be addressed at the architecture stage.

Audico has delivered AV network infrastructurefor some of the most demanding cultural venues, event spaces and control roomsin Finland and Sweden. Every project starts from the same principle: theinfrastructure is sized to meet the requirements of the AV systems, not theother way around.

AV-over-IP systems

In a traditional AVinstallation, every signal needs its own cable; in AV-over-IP, everything runsover standard ethernet. Common protocols include Dante and AES67 for audio, andNDI, SDVoE and AVB for video. The system scales without additional cabling.

Network design and architecture

AV networks demand time-criticaldata transfer, exceptional bandwidth and zero tolerance for misconfiguration. This requires QoS configuration and VLAN segmentation. Audico sizes networkarchitecture around audio, video and lighting requirements; everything elseadapts to the same infrastructure.

Redundancy and reliability

In a venue or control room, anetwork outage mid-performance is not an option. Redundant paths andfault-tolerant architecture are built in from the design phase, ensuring nosingle failure takes down the entire system.

Integration with other AV systems

When an AV network and othersystems come from different suppliers, accountability for integration easilybecomes unclear. Audico designs and delivers both the network and the systemsconnected to it, keeping responsibility with one supplier.

Why choose Audico Systems?

Comprehensive expertise

Audico Systems combines in-depth knowledge of audiovisual technology and communication networks. The solutions perform reliably across a wide range of environments and demanding use cases.

Operational reliability

Networks are designed to ensure seamless interoperability between devices and protocols from different manufacturers. Usability, manageability and stability are always a priority.

Dedicated expert team

Audico’s in-house AV network team consists of 14 specialists with expertise across all areas of AV technology. This ensures that every aspect of a solution is carefully considered and optimized.

Fast support

In presentation environments, response times are critical. Client teams are trained for first-level support, with Audico providing second-level assistance to keep operations running without interruption.

When the network works, the show works

One system, one point of responsibility

A unified AV network removesambiguity around accountability. When audio, video, lighting and control allrun through the same infrastructure and Audico is responsible for the whole, resolving issues is fast and responsibility does not fragment across multiplesuppliers.

Spaces built for multiple uses

A well-designed AV networkallows spaces to adapt flexibly for different events and purposes withoutrecabling. This increases space utilisation and opens new commercialpossibilities for the venue.

Infrastructure built for the next ten years

A scalable IP-based architectureis sized for today and the next ten years: more video, new AV protocols,AI-assisted tools. A well-designed system stays manageable without continuousrebuilding, and that shows directly in total infrastructure cost.

The Loop - Science Village Hall

In the heart of the Science Village research cluster in Lund, a new meeting place has emerged – Science Village Hall in The Loop. Unlike many traditional concert halls with a focus on classical music and acoustic perfection, the requirement here was for a venue that could accommodate everything from scientific conferences to club concerts and symphony orchestras.
