Vantaa Energy's high-temperature plant gets a facade that changes with the seasons
We delivered the facade lighting for Vantaa Energy's new high-temperature plant, completed in 2025, with one clear goal: striking visual presence combined with effortless day-to-day operation. The facade comes alive on schedule, with seasonal and holiday themes that change automatically without any need for daily management.
The stair tower is lit by 87 RGBW luminaires installed across nine levels. Their placement, aim and programming were planned in detail so that the scale of the tower reads clearly from every viewing angle and the use of colour stays controlled even across large surfaces. Calendar-based control builds the themes for spring, summer, autumn and key holidays into a single, balanced whole that reinforces Vantaa Energy's modern and responsible profile.
We were responsible for the technical specification, installation, commissioning and programming of the luminaires. Lighting design was delivered by Sweco.
In daily use, the system runs on its own. When needed, the lighting can also be controlled manually for special occasions.
